Mr. Warren served in the United States Military from 1965-1967. He then went to work for United Airlines doing various jobs.
He returned to the Cuba area and co owned and operated the "Sky loft", a restaurant on the southern end on Cuba Lake, with his father while also delivering mail for the Cuba post office. He was later appointed postmaster for the Town of Little Genesee a position he held for many years prior to retiring. He also was the assistant manager at Moonwinks for several years and continued to enjoy carving the meat for the holiday buffets.
Bill was an elections inspector for the Allegany County Board or Elections, a member and past master of the Cuba Friendship Masonic Lodge #306 F&AM where he was the current lodge secretary. He was also a member of the Corning Consistory, Past District Commander and current treasurer of the United States Power Squadron District 6, a member of the Canadian Power Squadron, the Cuba American Legion Post 655 where he was past commander and adjutant, the Cuba VFW Post 2721, and Shawn M. Clemens Memorial Am Vets Post 1 of Cuba.
Mr. Warren enjoyed music, acting, camping, plays, and was always ready with a good joke. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, William M. "Chip" (Joann) Warren II of Williamsville, NY; a daughter, Meghann (Dana) Harvey of Cuba; seven grandchildren; a brother, John A. "Jack" Warren of Denver, Colorado;
a sister, Sue Ellen (M. William) Barber of East Amherst; his father-in-law, Dr. Edward H. (Paula) VasNunes of Huntington Beach, CA;
his mother-in-law, Mimi Tittle of Ashville, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a grandson Nicolas W. Harvey on December 11, 2009 and a sister Patricia A. Martinson.
Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba on Friday, April 5, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. where funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. The Rev. Leslie E. Chambers will officiate.
Members of Cuba-Friendship Masonic Lodge # 306 F& AM will conduct Masonic services at 7 P.M. Friday evening.
Memorial suggestions include the Cuba Friendship Masonic Lodge, the United States Power Squadron District 6, the Buffalo Veteran's Hospital or to the Cuba American Legion Post 655.
