Millard J. Kellogg
Father and Grandfather

Millard J. Kellogg, 94, of 3088 Route 16, Olean and formerly of Bump Road, Cuba, passed away ]at Cuba Memorial Hospital’s Palliative Care Unit after a short illness.

Born on November 5, 1931, in Franklinville, he was a son of Growson and Marion Searle Kellogg.

Millard served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952-54 and received the National Defense Service Medal.

While his children were young, he worked for the Cuba AGWAY making deliveries, spreading lime or helping with other aspects of the business. Later Millard was a heavy equipment operator and truck driver for the Town of Ischua prior to retirement.

A man of immense work ethic and talent, he possessed the rare ability to fix anything mechanical and build anything he envisioned with his hands. For many years, he kept the community warm, cutting and selling firewood to numerous local families. He also cut, baled, and sold hay for many years. Outside of his hard work, he found joy in traveling, the company of his beloved cats, and creating memories with his family. Many will fondly remember him by his CB handle, "Cornflakes," or simply as the man who would truly do anything for anyone in need. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling on the five man league.

Millard is survived by his children; Betty Ann Miller of Weston Mills, Joyce Delaine Sikes of Olean, Edna Ewing of Bolivar, Susan (Donald) Vogel of Belfast, Eva (Edward) Boutwell of Olean, and Penny (Dan Sherwood) Alaimo of Weston Mills; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his longtime companion Nancy Bump, two brothers James and Warren Kellogg, and two sisters Virginia Clayson and Arwilda Williams.

The family will receive friends at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Sunday, May 31, 2026 from Noon-2:00 P.M. at which time a brief Service of Remembrance will be held.
