Marcia L. Gross
Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Sister

ASHFORD

Marcia L. Gross, 65, of Ashford and formerly of Jackson Hill Road, Cuba, passed away Friday, April 10, 2026, at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville following a lengthy illness.

Born July 17, 1960, in Cuba, she was a daughter of Gordon and Verna (Owens) Hakes. On December 24, 1982, at the Haskell Valley Community Church, she married Alvin H. Gross, Jr., who survives.

Marcia attended Hinsdale Central School through the eighth grade and later graduated at the top of her class from Portville Baptist School.

A dedicated professional, Marcia served as a Certified Pharmacy Technician for CVS in Olean for over 20 years. After moving to Ashford, she continued her career at the North Boston CVS until her retirement.

Marcia found great joy in the simple beauties of life. She spent countless hours planting and tending to her flower beds and took particular pride in her rose garden. She also cherished the many miles traveled riding motorcycles with her husband. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and in later years, she found peace in watching the many varieties of birds that visited her lawn.

In addition to her husband, Alvin, she is survived by two sons, Brandon Gross of Orchard Park and Kevin Gross of Olean; her granddaughters, Alleyah Gross and Anastasia Goldsmith; a sister, Ruth Farwell; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Richard Hakes, and a sister, Myrtle Ivy.

Friends may call at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. for a time of visitation and the sharing of memories with the family.
