Julia A. Ramsey, a lifelong resident of Cuba, passed away Monday, September 14, 2026 at Cuba Memorial Hospital's Palliative Care Unit after a lengthy illness.,p>
Born on July 14, 1940, in Cuba, she was a daughter of Roy and Joyce (Swain) Calhoun.
Julia was a graduate of Cuba Central Schools Class of 1958.
After high she worked as a telephone operator for several years, but retired from AVX in Olean after many years.
She dedicated her life to caring for her family, enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and plants, and the companionship of her cats.
She is survived by three grandchildren Ryan (Ashley) Grant of Alger, Wash., Monica (Brad) Schrock of Dunnellon, Fla., and Melissa (Ted) Pugh of Sherman; five great grandchildren; a brother Donald Calhoun of Cuba; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her children Timothy, Dennis, and Tammy Ramsey, a brother James Calhoun, a sister-in-law Rose Calhoun, and her longtime companion Robert Edmiston.
Friends may call at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Sunday, September 20, 2026 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at which time a Funeral Service will begin in the funeral home. The Rev. Rebecca Worth, will officiate.
Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, New York.
