Guy Williamson of Olean passed away June 29 ,2023, following a lengthy illness.

  Born January 25, 1937, in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of the late Clayton and Helen Sauter Williamson.  On September 17, 1977, he married the former Donna L. Cornell, who survives.

  Guy graduated from Phoenix High School and subsequently enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he worked as a radar technician, serving from September 7, 1954 until May 15, 1958. He then attended college at Clarkson University, where he earned two engineering degrees.

  Guy was employed by Carrier Corporation in Syracuse and later by Dresser Rand in Olean, as an engineer. He had the opportunity to travel to China for his work and thoroughly enjoyed his time abroad. Guy and Donna were also proud members of the Enchanted Mountaineers square dance group and traveled to square dance conventions together.

In his younger years, Guy played ice hockey, and in his retirement enjoyed spending winters in Florida and taking cruises of the Caribbean.  He was also an avid gardener and enjoyed playing golf and fishing.

  Surviving besides his wife are four children, Joni (Tim) Hanchett, Julie (Art) Wentz, Kim Bock, and David Williamson; grandchildren Art Wentz III, Devon, Gabrielle, Ryan, and Tyler Williamson; one great grandson Crew Williamson; three sisters, Jean Downer, Judy (Gary) Borland, and Rita (Bob) Woodworth.

  Guy was predeceased by his parents and one sister, Nancy Sequin.

  Friends will be received from at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral & Memorial Service Inc., 9 Bull St., Cuba, New York on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. unitl 1:00 at which time a Funeral Service will be held.
