Francis L. Golden, 77, formerly of Route 275, Friendship, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Veterans Administration Hospital, Bath, after a short illness.
Born on June 22, 1948, in Coudersport, Pennsylvania, he was a son of Paul and Marjorie Strom Golden.
Francis served in the United States Army in the 101st Airborne Division from July 30, 1965 until July 22, 1968.
He worked for the United States Postal Service, Olean office sorting mail until his retirement.
He was a member of the Friendship United Methodist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed ultralight airplanes.
Francis is survived by his children Joseph (Carrie) Golden of Pisek, North Dakota, Marcia “Marcy” Golden of Rochester, and Walter Golden of Arkport; a grandson Karl Golden, two brothers David (Sandy) Golden of Friendship and Bruce Golden of Wellsville; a sister Rebecca (Gary) Friend of Wellsville; several nieces and nephews.
Private Funeral Services were held by the family with military honors accorded by the Friendship American Legion Post 1168.
Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Friendship, New York.
