Edward Bee Schrlau, 68, of Cuba NY passed away after a very courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on March 15, 2026, in the comfort of his home. He was born on August 28, 1957, in Wellsville NY to the late Clifford and Louise (Ost) Schrlau.
After high school he went on to work at Mayer Brauser before starting his career at Hull Electric until his retirement in 2020. Ed had a deep relationship with his faith, was an avid golfer and bowler, enjoyed camping, spending time with his family, and was a lifetime Buffalo Bills fan. He had a unique sense of humor and “Ed-isms” that will be remembered by those closest to him.
He is survived by his loving partner, Anna Riley of Cuba NY; son, Edward Schrlau of Allegany NY; daughters, Lynn (Todd) DePuy of Allegany NY and Crystal (Rich Jr.) Dinch of Bradford PA. Along with his stepchildren, Jamie (Julie) Riley, Whitney (Elliott) Marino and Brendon (Jen Santos) Riley, all of Cuba NY. Several grandchildren, Tanisha Sprester of Norfolk VA; Triston Watson of Lewis Run PA; Tommy DePuy of Allegany NY; Corbin Watson and Josh Watson of Bradford PA; Aerabella Schrlau and Aerika Schrlau of Allegany NY; Faith Dinch, Maddy Dinch, and Chase Dinch of Bradford PA. Step grandchildren Kaleb and Jacob Riley, Elliott Marino of Cuba NY. Four sisters, Onalee (Tom) Weaver of Bradford PA; Mary Barrett of Rochester NY; Sandy (John Crawford) Sherwood of Wellsville NY; Sherri Schrlau of Leroy NY; sister-in-law Kay Schrlau of Wellsville NY. Several loving nieces and nephews, and his fur babies, Bella and Dot.
He is predeceased by both his parents and one brother, Howard “Bill” Schrlau.
A private family service will be held at the family’s discretion.
In lieu of flowers, please make any donations in his name to the American Cancer Society or Rescue Pups of Friendship NY, where his beloved Bella was adopted.
