Donald L. Sadler

Donald L. Sadler, 65, of Kilgore, Texas passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 2, 2026 at his home.

Don was born on July 14, 1960 in Houston, Texas and was the son of Kenneth P. and Thelma G. (Davenport) Sadler, Sr.

Don owned and operated a Texaco Full-Service Station for many years in Kilgore. He served as a respected Boy Scout Master mentoring the young including his son and nephew.

He had a passion for dirt track racing with his car being #87, going to and watching NASCAR and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle through almost 50 states, and one of his most memorable rides was on The Tail of the Dragon.

He grew to love woodworking, had a passion for cooking, enjoyed gardening, but most of all loved spending time with his family.

Don leaves behind many memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Kassie; his daughters Crystal (Jesse) Hennard of Short Tract, New York, Holly (Paul Malota) Sadler of Belfast, a special nephew Daniel A. (Kricket) Sadler, Kilgore; two step sons Brandon Stephenson and Nick Butram both of Kilgore; a brother Daniel Sadler of Kilgore; three sisters Beth Brewer and Kathy Sadler both of Friendship and Becky Veazey of Rowlett, TX, and his brother from another mother Lee Sadler Sr., 19 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and several close friends.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving son Donald J. "Donny Joe" Sadler, a niece Jessica Sadler, a brother Paul Sadler, and his Uncle Lloyd who was like a father to him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at the Belfast Fire Hall, 11 Merton Ave., Belfast, New York 14711 beginning at 2:00 P.M.

Don leaves behind many memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.
