Delores P. "Dody" Sherman, 67, of 6547 County Road 20, Friendship, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2026 at Seneca Health Care Center, West Seneca after a short illness.
Born on July 28, 1959, in Cuba, she was a daughter of Lewis J. and Doris P. (Pierce) Schoonover, Sr. On June 25, 1983, she married David E. Sherman who predeceased her on January 27, 2014.
Delores had worked at the New York State DOT in Friendship as a dispatcher prior to her marriage, then she was a homemaker.
She loved reading, roller skating, was an avid Bills fan and enjoyed researching her family tree. She was a member of the Friendship Bible Baptist Church.
Surviving are her siblings; Lewis (Holly) Schoonover, Jr. of Warren, Sandy (Bill) Lapiere of Belmont, Frances Lehman of Ohio, Marjorie Brent, Beverly Taft, and Patricia (Bruce) Olmstead all of Friendship; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and time. Burial will be in Black Creek Cemetery, Town of New Hudson, New York.
