Barbara M. Deming, 88, of Cuba, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026 at The Pines Rehabilitation and Healthcare Facility, Olean, after a short illness.
Born on January 9, 1938, in Greenville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of Stephen L. and Ethel (Sims) Marchbanks. On April 6, 1956, in Pickens, South Carolina, she married Bruce A. Deming who predeceased her on March 21, 1999.
She was a graduate of Greenville High School.
Barb started the ACME Federal Credit Union in Cuba. From 1970-2014 she was co-owner of Deming Electroplating in Cuba. After retirement she was the Town Supervisor for the Town of Cuba for several years.
She enjoyed going to the casino, playing the lotto and collecting ladybugs.
Barb is survived by her two sons Bruce Deming and Michael Deming both of Cuba; 23 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; a sister-in-law Doris Marchbanks of Indiana; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents are husband, she was predeceased by a daughter Joni Deming and her brothers Angus, Bruce, and Paul Marchbanks.
Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 10:00 A.M. until Noon with a funeral service beginning at Noon in the Funeral Home. Rev. Luke Granger, pastor of Cuba First Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Black Creek Cemetery, Town of New Hudson, New York.
