William L. Ritter, Sr., 86, formerly of Friendship, passed way Monday, March 09, 2015 surrounded by family at Jones Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born on August 20, 1928, in Whitesville, New York he was a son of Samuel and Mary Rheams Ritter. On October 15, 1949, in Friendship who married the former Margaret R. Paoliello who predeceased him on February 4, 2009.
Mr. Ritter was a graduate of Whitesville Central School. He was employed at the Friendship Foundry for many years prior to retiring in November of 1984.
He liked to hunt, fish, attend local race tracks, and watch NASCAR.
Surviving are two sons, Stephen (Sharon) Ritter of Friendship, and William L. Ritter, Jr. of Belmont; a daughter, Cheryl A. Owens of Friendship; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and one great great grand daughter; a brother, George (Marleah) Ritter of Belmont;
and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by a son Thomas "Tommy" Ritter on August 23, 2010; five brothers; and three sisters.
At Mr. Ritters request there will be no visitation or funeral services.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Friendship at the convenience of the family.
