Thomas R. Strong, 86, formerly of Route 305 West Clarksville, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Cuba Memorial Hospitals Palliative Care Unit after a lengthy illness.
Born on September 16, 1935, in Falls Church, Virginia, he was a son of Harry E. and Mary Peasley Strong.
Thomas was a graduate of Cuba Central School Class of 1954. He then served in the Unites States Army Serving.
After serving in the military, he had several jobs before going to work for National Fuel Gas Company. He started his career with National Fuel in Mineral Springs, New York, then transferred to the East Arcade office, then onto Andover, New York and eventually retired from National Fuels Wellsville office in 1991.
In retirement he moved to Florida for 13 years before relocating back to West Clarksville. He was an avid coin collector and also collected gold and silver.
He is survived by 2 sons, Jeff Strong of Cuba and Robert “Bob” Strong of Rixford, PA; 2 daughters, Mary (Daniel Smith, Jr.) Kron of Cuba and Donna Strong of Wellsville;
14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Tessie) Strong of Palm Coast, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son Thomas E. Strong, several hours after his passing on October 16, 2021, two grandsons Rodney Nelson and Shad Strong, a great grandson Palmer Strong, and a sister Jean.
There will be no services at this time.
Burial will be in Richburg Cemetery, Richburg, New York.
