Shawn Michael Miller, 24, of 42 Prospect Street, Cuba, passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital, Erie , after a lengthy illness.
Born on December 24, 1997, in Olean, he was the son of Mark J. Miller and Bryce A. Strawbridge.
Shawn was a graduate of Cuba-Rushford Central School, but attended classes at the Olean City School District. He was especially happy at school being with his teachers Pamela Nutt and Sheri Wilbur, and his health care aide Gail Jones.
He will be remembered for his smile that could light up a room and for being a New York Yankees fan. There was so much beauty in Shawn. He was always open and accepting of everyone who spoke to him. He was never too old to not appreciate the silly. He listened to others. If he liked a thing, he always liked it. He was honest, true, and faithful.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Betsy Abramowicz; his maternal grandmother, Barbara “Butch” Strawbridge; his step paternal grandmother, Sally Miller; 2 uncles, Raymond Williams and Michael J. (Wendy Tuttle) Miller; 2 aunts, Corby (Kerry) Colton and Michele (Gail Guilfoil) Miller; and several cousins.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Dale E. and JoAnn Miller, maternal grandfather Ernest B. Strawbridge and two uncles Robert “Randy” Strawbridge and Rodney Williams.
Friends may call at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba from 6-8 P.M. on Thursday, March 24, 2022.
