Schelvia J. Bliss, 77, of Friendship, passed away Tue., Dec. 3, 2024 at home after a lengthy illness.
Born on October 28, 1947, in Friendship, she was a daughter of Lyman and Evelyn Horton Bliss.
Schelvia was a graduate of Friendship Central School.
She had worked for Jones Chemical Company in Friendship and later was a maintenance worker at the Friendship Rest Area.
Her favorite football team was the Buffalo Bills and she enjoyed watching Walker Texas Ranger movies, but spending time with her family brought her the greatest joy.
She is survived by her children, Jean (Chuck) Witt of Cuba, Georgianna Perkins of Friendship and George (Amy) Bliss of Belmont; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; a brother, Paul Bliss of Friendship; several nieces and nephews; and her dog Lady.
In addition to her parents, she predeceased her brothers Robert, James, and Bruce Bliss and two sisters Diane Deming and Darlene Green.
Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street Cuba on Fri., Dec. 6, 2024 from 10-11A.M. with a funeral beginning at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Robert Grimes will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Friendship, New York.
