Sarah L. “Sally” Jahnke
Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother
Sarah L. "Sally" Jahnke, 89, formerly of Beebe Hill Rd., Cuba, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Cuba Memorial Hospital's Palliative Care Unit after a lengthy illness.

Born on November 12, 1926, in Carbondale, IL she was a daughter of John and Roberta MacCracken Hill. On August 24, 1946 in Phillip Park, Illinois she married William H. Jahnke, Sr. who predeceased her in 2006.

She went to high school in Villa Park, Illinois and was a two year science major attending of Elmherst College in Elmherst Illinois. She was the office manager for Dr. Taylor in Cuba for 25 years prior to her retirement.

She was a former member of the Cuba United Methodist Church and later attended North Park Wesleyan Church in Cuba.

Mrs. Jahnke loved square dancing, round dancing, quilting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her warm and generous hospitality preparing hours before for the perfect dinner for her family.

She is survived by her children, Sharon (Raymond) Long of Batavia, William (Carol) Jahnke, Jr. of Cuba, Gary (Donna) Jahnke of Kissimmee, Fl, and Jeffrey (Marie) Jahnke of New Hampshire; 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by a grandson Joshua Jahnke and a sister Joanne Kviz.

Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 7-9 P.M. and on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 10-11:00 A.M. at which time Funeral Services will be held. The Rev. Jonathan D. Ward, pastor of North Park Wesleyan Church, will officiate.

Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, New York.
