Roger Jay Clark
Loving Father, Grandfather, Son, and Brother
Roger Jay Clark, 72, of 9473 East Centerville Road, Rushford went to his Lord on Friday, September 10, 2021, at Strong Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

Born on November 20, 1948, in Fillmore, he was a son of RJay and June Blakeslee Clark.

As a boy of fourteen years old, Roger left home and worked on farms in Rushford and Centerville. He later graduated from Rushford Central School in 1967.

In 1970, Roger went to work for Allegany County as a heavy equipment operator for twelve years. In 1972, he purchased a farm on Mt. Monroe Road in Rushford, where he raised his three sons, farming that land for twenty-five years. While farming, he started trucking cattle for the Maplehurst Livestock Market (Kent Farms), the Springville Sale, the Bath Market, and for many slaughterhouses and local farms.

He did a lot of custom work for area farms, from haying to corn chopping. He was grateful his sons were always able to work the farm as he taught them, which was a big help. In 1995, Roger left Mt. Monroe and worked a dairy farm in Short Tract for several years. He then worked for several years at Walmart in Springville, but in 2004 went to work for Woodruff Construction, driving truck and equipment until 2016, at which time he retired.

Roger collected and restored Massey Harris tractors and equipment on the Rawson Road for several years prior to selling them at auction in 2019, 27 tractors in all.

He is survived by his mother, June Clark; three sons,Ervin (Kathy) Clark of Machias, Daniel (Missi) Clark of Perrysburg and Samuel (Monica) Clark of Rushford; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Dianna (Jim) Swain of Rushford and Melody (Clarence) Clark Smith of Rushford; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father.

The family will receive friends at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, from 10-11:00 A.M., at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Robert Wright will officiate.

Burial will be in White Cemetery, Rushford, New York.

Memorials may be made to the Rushford Rescue Squad, 8911 Upper, Rushford, NY 14777.
