Born on January 4, 1934, in Wellsville, he was a son of Ernest and Dorothy Dennis Powell. On July 26, 1954, in Cuba he married the former Rose M. St. Clair who preceded him in death on July 26, 2013.

Mr. Powell attended Friendship Central School and was later employed as a crane operator for Dresser Rand Industries in Olean where he retired from after 42 years of service.

Family and spending time with his grandchildren were the highlight of his life. Weekends were reserved as family time. He also enjoyed tinkering around his house and snowmobiling.

He is survived by 6 Daughters,Robin (Jon) Kelly of Scio, Becky Reisman of Olean, Cindy West of Portville, Jean (Walt) Wagner of Salamanca, Roberta Youmans of Belmont and Rhonda (Jeff) Herbert of Olean; 13 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Woodin of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by a grand daughter Brandy Lounsbury and his 8 Siblings Arlene, Velma, Charlotte, Ida, Joyce, Onalee, Pearl and Ernestine.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Cuba at 11:00 A.M. The Rev. Dennis J.J. Mancuso, will officiate.
