Mr. Randall was the Salutatorian of Portville Central Schools Class of 1944. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army from 1945-1946. While enlisted he received the Army Commendation Ribbon for his service in Yokohama Japan.
When returning to the Olean area, Dick began working for Bergreen's Roofing and Sheet Metal where he was manager for a number of years prior to his retirement.
He was a member of the Portville American Legion, Portville VFW, and a 62 year member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union.
Dick enjoyed wintering in Florida, working on his home, hunting, fishing, gardening, and especially horse races.
Together with his wife of 56 years, Alice, they raised four children, Larry Miller who predecased them, Brenda (James Kocher) Chesney of Cuba,
Richard W. Randall Jr. of Florida, and David (Linda) Randall of Jamestown. Dick is also survived by six grandchildren; three great grandchildren;
and his special nieces Ana Riley and Donna Carll among several other nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by his parents, and brothers Wesley, Jack, Louie, and Herbert.
There will be no visitation or funeral services. A happy hour in his memory will be held at a later date.
Memorials if desired may be made to the Cuba Library or Portville Library.
