Richard J. Hosley
Loving Father, Grandfather,
Great Grandfather, and Friend

Richard J. Hosley, 92, of 3555 Wolf Creek Rd, Cuba, passed away shortly after arrival at Olean General Hospital after a brief illness.

Born on April 10, 1923, in Cuba, he was a son of Jefferson and Mabel Thrall Hosley. On August 17, 1944, in Friendship, he married the former Georgianna Bailey who predeceased him on December 16, 1991.

He was a sixth generation farmer in the Haskell Valley from a young age. In 1951 while still farming he went to work for the Olean Tile Plant as a tile setter retiring in 1987 after 36 years of service.

He was a member of the Haskell Community Church for 26 years and was proud to be the third generation of his family attending there.

Richard enjoyed his walks outdoors, loved watching the birds at his feeders, and the squirrels and chipmunks.

Surviving are two sons, Ronald (Paula) Hosley of Cuba, and Frank (Shirly) Hosley of Georgetown, Kentucky; two daughters, Carol (Dale) Davis of Bolivar, and Bonnie (Tony) Tatham of Cuba; 16 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and 19 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by two sons Richard J. Hosley I whom died in infancy and Richard J. Hosley II; a grandson Shane Richard Davis; and his siblings Henry Hosley, Louise Piechota, and Edith Mann.

Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Visitation will continue at the Haskell Community Church, 3624 Hedden Hollow Rd, Cuba on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 from 10-11:00 A.M. at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Robert Kaple will officiate.

Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, New York.

In lieu of flowers memorial's may be made to the Haskell Community Church, 3624 Hedden Hollow Rd, Cuba, New York 14727.
