Born on September 25, 1951, in Rhinebeck, New York he was a son of Gustive and Dorothea (Haack) Chind. In 1979, in the Wellsville United Methodist Church he married the former Sara Cocco who predeceased him in 2012.

Richard was a member of the Knights Creek Church in Scio.

He is survived by a son, Richard A. (Casey) Chind, Jr. of Friendship; two grandchildren Kennedy (Christopher) Rogers and Jason Chind both of Friendship; a sister, Shirley (Joe) Rondeau of Louisiana; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a brother William Chind.

Graveside services will be held in Bowler Memorial Cemetery, Little Genesee, at the convenience of the family.
