Raymond B. Climie
Loving Father, Grandfather
Raymond B. Climie, 78, of 5841 Hilltop Rd., and formerly of North Branch Rd., Cuba, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Olean General Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born on March 8, 1938, in Buffalo, he was a son of Raymond H. and Sylvia Cordes Climie. On August 27, 1966, in St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Little Valley, he married the former Marlene K. Bishop his wife of 44 years who predeceased him on August 18, 2010.

Ray attended West Seneca West Senior High School and later served in the National Guard.

Working in construction he did Asbestos Rehab for over 20 years. Following that he was a Fire Department Dispatcher for the Town of West Seneca and later was a bus driver for the West Seneca School District from which he retired. He and his wife then relocated to their home in Cuba.

He was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church and a former member of St. John Lutheran Church in West Seneca. He was also an lifetime member of the Union Fire Company in Gardenville, was heavily active with his wife in Cub Scout Troop 410, and was a member of the Olean Men's Barbershoppers Quartet. In retirement he volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels.

Ray loved fishing, watching the Mets, and had an amazing green thumb.

Surviving are three sons, Raymond B. Climie, Jr. of Recife, Brazil, Peter J. (Catherine) Climie of Memphis, Tenn., and Kristopher B. (Stacey) Climie of Belleville, NJ; a granddaughter, Grace R. Climie; a sister, Gloria (Robert) Jones of Davenport, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and wife.

Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. until Noon at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Burton Smith, Jr., pastor of Cuba United Methodist Church will officiate.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Allegany County Cancer Services, 100 South Highland Ave., Wellsville, NY 14895.
