Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother
Myrtle A. Hunt, 98, of 2178 North 5th Street, Allegany, passed away Friday, March 25, 2016 at the Absolut at Allegany after a lengthy illness.

Born on October 20, 1917, in Franklinville, New York, she was a daughter of Arthur and Martha Brooks Gould.

Myrtle was a loving homemaker who lived and raised her children in the Black Creek area. She was an excellent cook who loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

For many years her love of writing led her to keeping a diary of all the important aspects of her life and many of those moments could also be found in her scrapbooks. County music was also a favorite. Charlie Pride was her favorite artist, while the song "From a Jack to a King" being her most requested. She liked singing, collecting hats, raising cats, bingo, and watching sports especially St. Bonaventure and the Buffalo Bills.

She was of member of the Cuba VFW Post 2721 Auxiliary and the York-Penn Southwestern Doll Club in Hinsdale.

Surviving are a son, John Hunt of Angelica; two daughters, Patricia (Bill) Rose of Cuba, and Martha Bennett of Allegany; eleven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and one great great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a son James R. Hunt on Oct. 9, 2014, a granddaughter Patty Lynn Rose, a sister Mildred Howard, and the father of her children Raymond Clair Hunt.

The family will receive friends at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 1-3 P.M. at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. David Lawton will officiate.

Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, New York.
