Michael J. Bump, 79, of 6782 Rawson Road, Lyndon, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Cuba Memorial Hospitals Palliative Care Unit after a brief illness.
Born on October 15, 1942, in Cuba, he was a son of James M. and Marian I. Siple Bump. On December 22, 2000, in Cuba, he married the former Kay Ellen White who survives.
He was a graduate of Cuba Central School Class of 1962.
Mike worked many years at Genesee Beer Distributing for Frank C. Resch and later for the Village of Cuba Department of Public Works retiring in 2004.
Mike was a member of the Cuba Rod and Gun Club and a social member of the Cuba American Legion Post 655. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping.
In addition to his wife Kay he is survived by 2 sons, James M. (Amy) Bump of Friendship and David J. (Jen) Bump of King Samon, Alaska; a daughter, Kelley (Jerry) Crabb of Arcade; 4 step daughters, Mandy (Jeremiah Barber) Wilcox of Black Creek, Stacy (Jeff) Flicker of Cuba, Shelby (James) Dondero of Poughkeepsie, NY and Kimberly Stephens of Cuba;
a brother, Darrell (Pam) Bump of Wellsville; 2 sisters, Wanda (Lee) Lafferty of Fillmore and Pam (Roger) Perry of Scio; numerous grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter Patti Bump.
Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. where funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Claudia Little will officiate.
Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, New York.
