Maxine A. Hadden

- Maxine A. Hadden, 79, of 4218 Route 305, Cuba, passed away Tuesday (Feb. 16, 2016) in Olean General Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

Maxine was born Jan. 1, 1937, in Franklinville, to William J. and Sara Simpson Bunk. On July 16, 1955, in Cuba, Maxine married Samuel Hadden, who survives.

She was a 1954 graduate of the Cuba Central School. Maxine was employed by the Cuba Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aide and later as a purchasing clerk, retiring in 1999 after 31 years of faithful service. She enjoyed crafting and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving in addition to her husband are four children, Samuel F. Hadden II of Cuba, Tracy (Jerry) Powley of Cuba, Tamie (Spike) Holmes of Friendship and Alan (Daniel) Hadden of Olean; a brother, Mike (Marilyn) Bunk of Cuba; a sister-in-law, Alice Bunk of Cuba; two grandchildren, Adam (Amanda) Powley of Pawleys Island, S.C., and Angela (Nick) Price of Phoenixville, Pa.; and three great-grandchildren, Wesley Powley, Benjamin Powley and Charlie Price.

Maxine was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Chesnut; and a brother, William Bunk II.

A celebration of Maxine's life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 20, 2016) at the A.A. Arnold Community Center, 51 E. Main St. Cuba.
