Working in offices all of her career she was first employed by the VanDerHorst Corporation in Olean for thirteen years, then she was employed as an administrative assistant at Dresser Rand in Olean where she worked in the purchasing, inventory, and drafting departments for 26 years. Mary then finished her working career as a receptionist for Cattaraugus County retiring in 2000.

She enjoyed golfing, flowers, traveling when able, bible study, and prayer group. She attended the former Living Waters Church (currently Fresh Fire Worship Center) in Olean.

Mary will be remembered as a very caring friend who was always willing to help those in need. She spent many years helping elderly friends and neighbors, and enjoyed assisting them with meals, doctor appointments, and shopping.

Surviving are her husband Robert of Olean; a stepson, Steve (Ann) Ide of Bolivar; four brothers, Jim (Gracie) Wentz of Ladson, SC, Eric Wentz of Glendale, AZ, Kim Wentz of Ocala, FL, and Arthur (Julie) Wentz of Olean; a sister, Jean (Joe) Sterlace of Corning; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home &Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Saturday, November 26, 2016 from 10-11 A.M. at which time funeral services will be held. Joel Whitcher, assistant pastor of Fresh Fire Worship Center, will officiate.

Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean, New York.
