Marie “Mickey” E. Lewandowski
Loving Mother and Friend
Marie “Mickey” E. Lewandowski, 86, formerly of 6302 Crabb Hollow Road, Blackcreek passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Harris Hill Nursing after a long illness.

Born on January 28, 1936, in Cuba she was the daughter of Jason and Vella Stevens Edwards. On October 11, 1963 in the Cuba First Baptist Church, she married Bronislaus “Brownie” Lewandowski who preceded her in death on March 26, 2020.

Marie was a graduate of Cuba Central School Class of 1953. She had worked as a telephone operator for the Cuba Telephone Company prior to her retirement. Her greatest joy was being a stay-at-home Mom for her children and the neighbor children, because she valued family more than anything.

She had been a member of the Cuba Homemakers Club and when her daughter was younger, she was a brownie and girl scout leader. An active member in the Cuba First Baptist Church, she enjoyed ceramics, reading, crossword puzzles, and was an avid Buffalo Bills, St. Bonaventure, and Buffalo Sabres Fan, and we must not forget her collection of Clown memorabilia.

She leaves behind a son, Brian (Sherry) Campbell of Lancaster; a daughter, Alison Lewandowski of Clarence; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Donald, Evelyn, Arthur, Allen and Lawrence all whom died in infancy as well as Gerald, Walter, Dorothy, Verna, Vera, George, Phyllis, Jason, and Billy.

Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at the Cuba First Baptist Church, 17 South Street, Cuba at 1:00 P.M. The Rev. Alexandra Freer and Pastor Claudia Little will co-officiate.

Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, New York.

Memorial suggestions include the Chamberlain Park Playground Project, c/o Allegany County Area Foundation, 6087 State Rte 19N, Belmont, NY 14843 or to Cuba Rushford Central School Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.
