Lucy A. Sinclair, 95, of 6283 Rte. 305, Black Creek, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 1, 2015 shortly after arrival at Olean General Hospital.

Born on February 14, 1919, in Stillwell, Oklahoma, she was a daughter of Henry and Mary Mankiller Gritts. On February 13, 1952 in Oklahoma City she married Lorenzo C. "Curt" Sinclair who predeceased her on February 3, 2012.

Lucy served in the Untied States Army from November 16, 1944 until August 8, 1947. She received the Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Ribbon, and the American Theater Campaign Ribbon.

While in Oklahoma she was a beautician for Salabristol Beauty Shop. After moving to New York she was employed at the Franklinville Market Basket as a cashier. She also worked on the family farm with her husband.

She was a social member of the Cuba VFW Post 2721.

Surviving are a son, David Sinclair of Salamanca; a grandson, Christopher Michael Sinclair of Houston; a granddaughter, Brandy (Brian) Sinclair O'Hagan of Pittsburgh; a great granddaughter, Lemony L. Hagan; a special cousin and caregiver, Paul (Mary Margaret) Sullivan of Eldred; and several nieces, nephews, and many close friends.

She was predeceased by her husband; a son Michael Sinclair; and siblings Sam Nofire, Eli Nofire, Anna Killpatrick, Maggie Hill, and Lois Ishconer.

Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba on Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 11:00 A.M. until Noon at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Richard Keel will officiate.

Burial will be in Black Creek Cemetery, Town of New Hudson, New York.
