Louise J. Wilcox

Louise J. Wilcox, of 1659 Dugan Rd., went to be with her lord on Tuesday (Jan. 28, 2014) at home following a brief illness.

Born July 25, 1938 in West Clarksville, she was a daughter of Martin E. and Lorraine Case Butts. Louise attended school in West Clarksville, where she met her husband, Arthur. They were married on Oct. 24, 1954 in West Clarksville and they shared a love that lasted almost 60 years. In 1958, Louise and Art migrated to Southern California, where they lived in the San Gabriel Valley for 41 years.

Louise was employed as a reviewer by the Ticor Title Co. while living in California. She was a member of the Alhambra Bethany Church (Alhambra, Calif.) and attended the West Clarksville Baptist Church.

Louise enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, knitting, traveling with her husband, and playing slot machines in Laughlin and Reno, Nev. Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Benjamin A. Wilcox and Jeffrey M. Wilcox, both of Buffalo; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Marvin (Donna) Butts) of Allentown and Morey (Michelle) Butts of West Clarksville; four sisters, Lois Arnold of West Clarksville, Lucille Kyser of West Clarksville, Lene (Bruce) Jones of Richburg, and LuAnn (Martin) Smith of Cuba; and one aunt Donna (Robert) Clayson of Cuba.

She is preceded in death by a daughter, Marcia Wade, in 2011; and a grandson, Brandon Wade, in 2011.

Friends may call at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, 9 Bull St., Cuba, Sunday (Feb. 2, 2014) from 2 to 5 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Monday (Feb. 3, 2014) at 11 a.m. in the West Clarksville Baptist Church with Pastor Leslie Chambers officiating and burial in West Clarksville Cemetery.

Memorials to the Salvation Army 310 E. State St. Box 28, Olean, NY, 14760 would be appreciated by the family.
