LeRoy E. Clark

Our dad, LeRoy E. Clark, known to his friends and family as Lee passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 22nd.
LeRoy E. Clark, the man, the myth, the legend was known by many in his community.  He was a Husband, Father and Grandfather.

Born on July 10, 1950, at Cuba Memorial Hospital, he was the son of LeRoy and Ruth Clark.   Learning to work hard from a young age, he was always employed.  Some of his jobs that meant a lot to him were working for the Village of Cuba, serving as Town Highway Superintendent, building cabins for the NYS DEC at Camp Rushford and his part-time job with UPC satellite offices being their Mr. Fix it.

On, September 12, 1968, he married his darling bride (as he liked to call her), Wendy L. Searl.  They have been married for fifty plus years and still enjoyed spending time together riding Harleys and camping.

Dad never sat still for long.  He was active in the Cuba Community his whole life.  He was a driver for the Cuba Ambulance.  During his time as a lifetime member of the Cuba Fire Department, he was chief, training officer and Fire Commissioner.   He was a lifetime member of the Cuba Rod and Gun Club.  The list of young men that took his hunter safety courses goes on and on.  He was very proud of the time and labor he put into the Trap Club.  He loved the sport of trapshooting and was very good at it!  Bringing home, lots of patches and trophies in the area over the years.

Coaching Little League was something he also enjoyed.  If you were an Indian, odds are, you won a championship.  You could often find him sitting in the stands at one his grandson's sporting events.

Our dad's work ethic and drive was unmatched by many.  His values were important to him and he was not afraid to stand behind what he believed. We are proud to be his children, Richard (Corin Madden) Clark of Wilmington, NC and Nicole Clark-Deck of Cuba.
Dad told us once that you never think you can love anyone more than your children, until you hold your grandchildren.  He had five grandsons; Alex (and Leah) Deck, Kyle Clark, Nicholas Deck, Malachi Clark, and Zachary Deck and one granddaughter, Cailynn Clark.  And, we can't forget his beloved dog, Buck.  Nothing was more important than his family and we always came first.

Never wanting anyone to make a fuss over him, there will not be a service.  We will be spending time as a family.

Our family encourages memorials to be made to the Lee Clark Memorial Scholarship, c/o CRCS, Attn. Business Office. 15 Elm St. Cuba, NY 14727.
