Kathryn Terwilliger

Machias, NY

Kathryn (Kay) Terwilliger, formerly of Franklinville, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022. She was 94. Born in Bradford, Kay was the daughter of the late Maynard and Mildred Farrell Stoddard.

Over the years, Kay worked at various businesses including Acme Electric, Bartholomew’s Pharmacy, A&P, and Brisky Pet Products. She was self-employed as a hairdresser for a period of time, and co-owner of Franklinville Dairy Freeze for many years.

Dancing was a passion of Kay’s and became her favorite activity during retirement. She would drive through almost any conditions to meet her dancing crew and did so regularly until just several years ago. In earlier years, Kay was a member of the IVCC ladies bowling league, Turtle Club, and Red Hatters, and enjoyed many get togethers with the groups. Kay also loved cooking. She spent countless hours in her kitchen (cooking in abundance) to prepare for meal or dessert drop-offs to others.

Kay is survived by two sons, Dennis, and Roger (Michele) Terwilliger, and four daughters, Bev (Mike) Harter, Diane (JJ) Forward, Sharon (Denny) Brege, and Kathleen (Jeff) Brisky, nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Kay was predeceased by her parents; one brother Larry Stoddard, and two sisters Evelyn (Chuck) Olin and Arlene (Leroy) Soble, all of Bradford.

At Kay’s request, no formal service will be held. To send a farewell and celebrate her life, turn on some fast music and dance…she would love it!

Arrangements are under direction of the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., Cuba.
