Joyce A. Calhoun, 94, of 5 Lees Court, Cuba, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in Cuba Memorial Hospital's Palliative Care Unit.
Born on March 26, 1915, in Hornell, New York she was a son of William and Eliza Brown Swain. She was married to Charles Roy Calhoun who predeceased her on November 2, 1966.

As a child Mrs. Calhoun grew up in the Belvidere area and eventually moved to Cuba with her husband. She worked for ACME Electric for a few years, then , was a clerk for the Red & White Grocery Store in Cuba for many years prior to her retirement.
She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are one son, Donald (Rose) Calhoun of Cuba; one daughter, Julia "Judy" Ramsey of Cuba; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by a son James Calhoun, a daughter Helen Calhoun who died in infancy, a grandson Dennis Ramsey, four brothers, John, Victor, Jesse, and Newton Swain, and three sisters, Vivian Cooper, Irena Lockwood, and Florie Cooper.
Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba on Saturday, January 2, 2009 from 10-11 A.M. at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Larry A. Poelma, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Cuba, will officiate.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Friendship, New York.
