Joseph W. Johnson, 71, of 5002 County Route 17, Friendship, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Buffalo General Hospital after a short illness.
Born on April 4, 1951, in Cuba, he was the son of William and Theresa Shults Johnson. He had been married his wife Margo who predeceased him on October 10, 2005.
Joe served in the United States Army from January 11, 1971 until January 10, 1973.
He was a Cheese Packer for Cuba Cheese until his retirement in 2014.
Joe loved to fish, hunt, and garden.
He is survived by his son, Joseph (Jennifer) Johnson of Friendship; and 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter Tonya Marie Sherrill on May 16, 2016.
Friends may call at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. until Noon at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Duane Broadwell, pastor of Friendship Bible Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial with military honors will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Friendship.
Memorials may be made to the American Legion Riders or Patriot Guard riders of the donors choice.
