John L. Orcutt

John L. Orcutt, 72, of 5 Green Street, Cuba, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Cuba Memorial Hospital’s Palliative Care Unit after a lengthy illness.

Born on June 20, 1948, in Olean, he was a son of Lawrence and Janet Rudolph Orcutt.

He served in the Unites States Army from March 6, 1968 until February 23, 1970. He was very proud of his country and took pride in his time in the ARMY.

John enjoyed boating, fishing, and cooking. He loved gardening and did lots of canning. He had an amazing green thumb. He was especially fond of his dog Oliver who provided endless hours of companionship in his later years.

He is survived by a daughter, Abby (Eric) Poore of Cuba; his grandchildren Raegan, Tyler, Braedyn, Alyssa, and Paige; a great granddaughter, Karson; his siblings, Toni (Ralph) Fox of Bend, Oregon, Tomie (Barry) Cummins of Cuba, Jeff (Nancy) Orcutt of Cuba, Jerry Orcutt of Cuba and Lorie (Stacie Glenn) Orcutt of Tacoma, Washington; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend and neighbor, Shameka Davis.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter Shea Payne and a brother Jack Orcutt.,p> A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Bath National Cemetery.
