John Charles LaFleur

John Charles LaFleur, 73, of Cuba, died Wednesday (Oct. 4, 2017) at home. Born Jan. 16. 1944 in Williamsville he was a son of Roy and Margaret (Wik) LaFleur. On March 15, 1969, he married Lois Jaszka at St. Gregory the Great Church in Williamsville.
He attended St. Peter and Paul School and Williamsville South High School, both in Williamsville, before studying automotive mechanics in Pennsylvania. John served in the U.S. Army for two years, then went to work for various construction companies in Buffalo. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 17 for 40+ years, and retired from L.C. Whitford after 30+ years. He and Lois moved to Cuba in January 1977, where they started and raised a beautiful family together. While John loved taking to the sky in one of his personal airplanes, tinkering with his model airplanes and Mopar, he always wanted his family to know that above all else his wife, children and grandchildren were his greatest love and highest accomplishment.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children: Roy (Trina) LaFleur of Wellsville; Lori (John) Lamberson and Arthur (Felicia Hadsell) LaFleur of Cuba; Jessica (Jason) Hunt and Charles (Amanda) LaFleur of Friendship; seven grandchildren: Katherine, Emily, Avery, Kennedy, Daniel, Ethan and Vivian; and five siblings: Betty Knop, Joyce Harlock, Daniel LaFleur, Harold Harlock and Paul LaFleur; as well as many in-laws, cousins, and nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Sunday (Oct. 8, 2017) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to organizations serving veterans or children, two groups that were very important to John. Online condolences may be sent by clicking the button below.
