Jerry H. Faulkner
Loving Father and Grandfather
Jerry H. Faulkner, 88, of 9 Vorhis Street, Friendship, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Olean General Hospital after a brief illness.

Born on August, 24, 1932 in the Town of Wirt, New York he was a son of John D. and Mary E. Dick Faulkner.

Jerry served in the Untied States Air Force from 1951-1955 during the Korean War. He received Three Offensive Stars for his combat missions, and also received the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Later from 1976 to 1990 he served as a Drill Sergeant for the 98th Division Institutional Training.

He was employed by Dresser Rand in Olean as a Metallurgical Technician prior to his retirement.

Jerry was a member of the Friendship American Legion Post 1168 and its Honor Guard, the Cuba Friendship Masonic Lodge #306 F&AM where he had been Past Grand Master and District Grand Lecturer, and was a life member of the Materials Information Society. Episcopalian by faith he was a former member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Friendship. For many years he was a member of the Friendship Rod & Gun Club.

Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and cooking.

He is survived by three children, Michael (Michael Rawlings) Faulkner of Center Cross, VA, Matthew (Vera) Faulkner of Port Charlotte, FL and Jocene (Gregg) Henderson of Port Charlotte, FL; his foster children, Gail Sisson, Ronald Madison, and Rosemary Ryan; his grandchildren, Dustin Preston, Korey Faulkner, Devin Preston, Emily Faulkner, and Megan Preston-Orr; 11 great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald D. Faulkner and Duane K. Faulkner both of Richburg; a sister, Molly Bishop of Wellsville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to parents he was predeceased by a son Mark Lee Faulkner and his longtime loving companion Carol Riehle, and a brother John Faulkner.

Private Funeral Services with full Military Honors accorded by members of Friendship American Legion Post 1168 will be held at the convenience of the family. A public Memorial Service honoring Jerry's life will be held at a later date and time to be announced.

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Friendship, New York.
