Jeffrey L. Linza, 60, of Caneadea, passed away unexpectedly January 3, 2017 at Olean General Hospital.

Born on April 21, 1956, in Wellsville, he was a son of Harley and Phyllis Schmidt Linza. On May 3, 1980, in Sacred Heart Cathedral, Rochester he married the former Mary C. McAvaney who survives.

Jeff was a graduate of Marshall High School in Rochester. He then went to work for KODAK as a film coater, from 1974-2006. In 2007 he went to work as a truck driver for Creekside Mill-Work of Arcade where he was presently employed.

Jeff was an avid New York Yankees and Boston Bruins fan. For over forty years he played Men's fast pitch softball for different leagues in the area playing the position of catcher. He was proud to have three generations of Linzas' play together on several occasions. When his children were young he coached softball and little league baseball. He also enjoyed hunting.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his parents Harley and Phyllis Linza of Westfield, PA; two sons, Army Captain Justin (Jennifer) Linza of Windsor, VA, and Nickalus Linza of Amsterdam, NY; a daughter, Amber (Carl Kossow) Linza of Canisteo, NY; his grandchildren, Addison and Phynlee Linza; three sisters, Paula Linza of Livonia, NY, Brenda (Gene) Brunette of Brockport, NY, and Pamela (Tim) Conley of Rush, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. until 2 P.M. at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Dennis J.J. Mancuso will be the celebrant.
