James T. Swain

James T. Swain, 50 of Bemus Point, NY, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at UPMC Chautauqua with family by his side.

Jim was born on January 4, 1971 in Olean, NY. He was a son of Loyd and Nancy Swain. Jim was a graduate of Cuba Central School, Class of 1989. He graduated from Cazenovia College and attended Buffalo State.

Jim worked at Market Basket Grocery Store in High School. After college, Jim worked at Xerox and worked in website development at Adventure Web Interactive.

Jim enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family, driving his 1966 Mustang and watching the Buffalo Bills. Jim was very close to his mother (Nancy Swain) who preceded him in death on May 7, 2020. Jim was also preceded in death by his father, Loyd Swain, Grandparents, Floyd and Geraldine Tessler and Orval and Florence Swain, along with Uncles Butch Tressler, Dave Allen and Kenneth Swain.

Jim is survived by his brother, Loyd Swain II of Cooperstown, PA, sister JeanAnn (Barry) Searl of Cuba, NY, sister JoAnn (Jeff) Kester of Bemus Point, NY, nephews Tyson (Kelly) Swain of Pennsylvania and Nolan (Megan) Searl of Georgia, nieces, Jennifer (Chip) Sawaya of Belfast, NY, Jessica (Steve) Westfall of Florida, Corinna (Timothy) Hooge of Buffalo, NY, Courtney Sawaya of Cuba, NY, Christina (Burt) Anderson of Bemus Point, NY and Hayley (Cole) Burke of Randolph, NY, seven great nephews and two great nieces. Jim had a special relationship with his great nephew, Harris Swain. Also survived is former wife and friend Julie Swain and sister-n-law Denise Swain.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2022, from 2-4 pm at the Mark Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc, 9 Bull St. Cuba, NY.

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY at a later date.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice or to the Cuba Little League, PO Box 265, Cuba, NY 14727.
