Helen M. Chamberlain, 94, of 4 Medbury Ave, Cuba, passed way Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Cuba Memorial Hospital's Palliative Care Program.
Born on March 26, 1919 in Marshall, NY she was a daughter of Harry and Margaret Roberts Rich. On April 12, 1940 she married Loren Earl Chamberlain who predeceased her in January of 1981.

Mrs. Chamberlain was a graduate of Cuba Central School Class of 1935. She later graduated from Craig Colony School if Nursing in Sonyea, NY.
For one year she worked as a registered nurse at Fordham Hospital in the Bronx and in 1940 went to work for Cuba Memorial Hospital part time in the Obstetrics and Geriatrics ward working the 3-11 shift retiring after 37 years. She also worked at Chamberlain Appliance and Cuba Cable Company in Cuba doing secretarial work.
Helen was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Cuba for over 50 years. She was the head of the rummage rooms since 1992. She also was involved in the Church Bake Sales, decorated the church with flowers every June, was a member of the Council of Churches, and for many years was active in the nursery and served on the Board of Trustees for many years.
She was an avid Mets Fan, a former cub scout den leader, enjoyed playing piano and trombone, and was part of her own band that played for picnics and social aspects. She enjoyed watching little league, basketball, and soccer, especially when her children and grandchildren were playing. Spending time with family was also one of her favorite activities.
Surviving are three sons, Doug (Bonnie) Chamberlain of Victor, NY, Dennis (Kathy) Chamberlain of Cuba, and David (Faye) Chamberlain of Cuba;
one daughter, Karen (William) Shelley of Irvine, California; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert Rich of Phoenix, Arizona;
and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by a brother Rodney Rich and a sister Dorothy Johnson.
Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Services, 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Friday March 29, 2013 from 7-9 P.M. only. Visitation will also be on Saturday, March 30, 2013 from 1-2 P.M. will be held at the First Baptist Church, 17 South Street, Cuba at which time funeral services will be held.. The Rev. Larry A. Poelma will officiate.
Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, New York.
