Harold R. Gleason, 77, of 15 Bishop Street, Cuba, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, December 02, 2009.
Born on October 10, 1932, in Cuba, New York, he was a son of the late Russell and Mildred Robinson Gleason. On June 28, 1952, at the First Baptist Church of Cuba he married the former Janice R. Remillard who survives.
Mr. Gleason served in the US Army from 1953-54.

He had worked for Hedden's Red & White Grocery Store of Cuba for 15 yrs as a meat cutter. After that he worked 25 years as an Electronics Technician for Acme Electric of Cuba retiring in 1991. He also co owned and operated Gleason's Laundromat in Cuba for 21 years with his son Robert.
Harold was an avid golfer that enjoyed golfing with his friends in the Thursday League and with his sons on the weekends. He also enjoyed working in his woodshop, traveling with his wife, and spending time with his family.
Mr. Gleason was a 50 year member of the First Baptist Church of Cuba, Cuba American Legion Post #655, and a former member of the Cuba Cemetery Association.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 57 years are three sons, Richard (Tonie) Gleason of Hinsdale, Robert (Kim) Gleason of Cuba, and
Donald (Kathy) Gleason of Tonawanda; one Daughter, Debra (Thomas) Congdon of Dunlap, Illinois; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren;
a sister, Cecila (Ernest) Kellogg of Canton, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a sister Ermena Barber.
The family will receive friends at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Friday, December 4, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M., where funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. The Rev. Larry A. Poelma, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, New York.
