Gerald A. “Jerry” Linderman, 87, of 850 Route 446, Hinsdale, passed away Friday, October 29, 2021 at Olean General Hospital after a brief unexpected illness.
Born on December 20, 1933, in Olean, he was a son of Norman and Marian Brown Linderman. On November 23, 1957, at Calvary Baptist Church in Olean, he married the former Sandra L. Carter who survives.
Jerry was a graduate of Hinsdale Central School Class of 1952. From an early age Jerry worked on the family farm and in 1972, after the thruway went through, he owned and operated Jerry’s Farm Service selling and repairing farm equipment until his retirement.
In his younger years he was an avid hunter and enjoyed traveling with his wife which included trips to Spain and Mexico City.
Jerry was a longtime member of the Maplehurst Baptist Church, was a member of the local Gideons group, and was a board member at Odasagiah Bible Conference in Machias. He was also a former Supervisor for the Town of Hinsdale.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Brian (Tammy) Linderman of Castile; 2 daughters, Valerie S. Halladay of Cumming, Georgia and Amy Lynn Linderman of Olean; 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; a brother, Lyle (Phyllis) Linderman of Leesburg, Florida;
a sister, Norma Schryver of Olean; a sister-in-law, Marge Linderman of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter Dianne Greene, a grandson Brandon Greene, and a brother Raymond Linderman.
A Memorial Service for friends and family will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
Burial will be in Hinsdale Cemetery, Maplehurst, New York.
