Frank R. Wilmot

Frank R. Wilmot, of Hinsdale, passed away in the comfort of his home on March 23, 2023 after a short illness.

Frank was born to O. Gordon Wilmot and Frankie Drew Wilmot of Rushford, New York on July 10, 1942. In 1992, Frank Married Virginia Davis Clark who survives. Together, they were “The River Rats” on Black River in Boonville, New York.

Surviving besides his wife are his children Annette (Rick) Hall, Anthony Wilmot, Michelle Clark, Belinda (Larry) Knight; grandchildren Kyle, Chelsea (Al) Casey, CJ (Richelle), brothers Russell (Gussie) Wilmot, James (Dawn) Wilmot; sister Laura Long; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and special friends known as “the church group.”

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Douglas Wilmot and Bryon Wilmot.

Frank was a graduate of Rushford Central School. He served in the United States Army from 1964-66 in the 2nd Armored Division (“Hell on Wheels”) earing a good conduct medal and commendations for marksmanship and sharpshooting. He was an exceptional carpenter from homes to intricate heirlooms. His memberships include the Cuba and Hinsdale American Legions and the Cuba VFW.

Frank enjoyed spending time in nature, stock car racing, and tinkering in the woodshop.

At his request, he will be cremated with no visitation or service.

Memorials may be sent to the Cuba American Legion Post 655, 5 E. Main Street, Cuba.
