Florence Emily Golday (Blicharz), known as Flo or “Flo Baby,” passed away peacefully on December
2nd 2022 at Cuba Memorial Nursing home in Cuba, NY.
Born June 4, 1934, in Netcong, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Emily Black.
She was one of 5 children.
Florence graduated from Roselle Park Highschool in 1952. She married Edward Blicharz in 1954, who
predeceased her. She had 2 children, Thomas and Nancy.
Florence lived most of her life in New Jersey, while she worked as an office manager at Absolute Fire
Company (for 27 years). She retired and moved to Cuba, NY in 2002, to be closer to her family.
She loved cooking and entertaining her loved ones, while sipping a martini. She also loved music,
especially playing her banjo. She was a classy woman with poise. She was empathetic, knowing what to
say when you needed it the most.
In addition to her parents and ex-husband, she is predeceased by her beloved daughter, Nancy
McNeely; her stepmother, Marion Black; three sisters, Barbara Sebring, Betty Felauer, Doris Lynch, and
her brother Harry Black.
She is survived by her son; Thomas (Sydney) Blicharz; 4 grandchildren; Joseph (Cierrah) Blicharz,
Douglas (Jessica) Blicharz, Annie (Josh) Anderson, Sydney (Chris) Chiapuso, and 13 great
grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing at Mark Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, New York 14727 on Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 10:00 A.M.-Noon at which time a Funeral Service will be held with Pastor Steve Beattie officiating.
Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, New York.
