Erma M. Homuth
Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother
Erma M. Homuth, 100, of 9046 Spring Valley Road, Cuba, passed away Thursday, December 09, 2010 at the Absolut at Houghton following a brief illness.

Born on May 11, 1910, in Shinglehouse, PA she was a daughter of Edger and Laura Blovelt Baker. On November 13, 1932 she married Arno Albert Homuth who predeceased her on April 20, 1948.

Mrs. Homuth was a housekeeper for many years for different families in the area. She retired from cleaning homes on March 3, 1995 at age 84.

Erma became a member of the First Baptist Church on April 11, 1948. For many of those years she cleaned the church and taught Sunday school. Each year she looked forward to participating in the CROP walk and was still walking to help prevent hunger at age 90.

Always being family oriented she especially enjoyed reading to her grandchildren, walking, and visiting with family and friends.

Surviving are three sons, James (Joyce) Homuth of Allegany, David (Luanne) Homuth of Cuba, and Richard "Rick" (Rose) Homuth of Cuba; 12 Grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren; a daughter in law, Gloria Homuth of Cuba; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a son, Thomas Homuth who passed away May 16, 2007, two brothers Dean Baker and Pete Baker, and two sisters Marie Sherman and Doris Webber.

The Family will receive friends at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba on Sunday, December 12, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 13, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, 17 South Street, Cuba at 11:00 A.M. The Rev. Larry A. Poelma, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will be with her husband in Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, New York.
