Edwina M. Allen, formerly of 2576 Rte. 305, West Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at the The Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness.
Born on December 8, 1930, in Richburg, New York she was a daughter of Frank Joseph and Gladys Myrtle Wheeler Speta. On January 22, 1949 she married Dennis J. Allen and they enjoyed 65 happy years of marriage until his death on September 5, 2014.
In 1965, she was employed by the AAA Auto Club in Olean, until retiring in 2002. She enjoyed being the office manager there and made many friends serving the community throughout the years. She also enjoyed drawing pictures, mostly in pencil and did a beautiful job.
A highlight if her life was sharing Bible information with the community as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses with the Cuba New York Kingdom Hall, for over 60 years. She will be remembered for a being a very caring and loving person.
Surviving are her children Christine (John) Vybiral of Polleck Pines, California, Timothy (Jean) Allen of Belfast, and Mike (Sue) Allen of Arcade Edwina also has grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she enjoyed being with.
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by 3 sisters Dora May Crawford, Rose Mary Bowker, and Joan Speta, and a brother Ralph Speta.
There will be a Memorial Service in the near future at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Maplehurst, New York at a date and time to be announced, until then there will be no visitation.

A Memorial Service for Edwina M. Allen, formerly of 2576 Route 305 West Clarksville who passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023 will be held at the New Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4258 Rte. 16 Hinsdale on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. Elder Zane Keniston will officiate.
