Duane R. “Ricky” Payne, 61, of Wellsville, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025 at F.F. Thompson Hospital, Canandaigua after a lengthy illness.
Born on February 6, 1964, he was a son of Duane R. Payne and Judy (Lindey) Doty.
Duane was a graduate of Cuba Central School. He was a machinist for Dresser Rand working first in the Wellsville Plant and then transferred to the Olean Plant, retiring after many years.
He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding side-by-sides with his treasured friends.
Duane is survived by; his mother Judy (Ken) Doty of Olean; a brother Terry (Hilda McElwee) Payne of Cuba; a sister Amie (David) Merchel of Hinsdale; he was Pop Pop to Trent Aldrich of Wellsville whom he considered a grandson; several nieces and nephews and many friends who were like his family.
He was predeceased by his father Duane Payne and a sister-in-law Shea Payne on February 14, 2016.
At his request there will be no services.
Cremation arrangements are under direction of the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., Cuba.
