Doris H. Thompson, 90, of 8236 County Route 20, Cuba, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Wellsville Manor Care Centers Palliative Care Unit after a lengthy illness.

Born on August 11, 1925, in Herkimer, New York she was the daughter of Oliver and Bertha Dunn DeCarr. Doris was an amazing woman with great strength and dearly loved her family and friends.

Doris was past owner of the Wayside Inn in Hinsdale and had worked for many years as a hostess and waitress for the Kopper Keg Restaurant in Cuba.

She loved going to horse pulls and sitting on her front porch.

The family wishes to thank her many special friends including Don Lamb and Joy Ames, who helped care for her over the last few years. We don't know what she would have done without all of you.

Surviving are a son, Darwin (Mary) Thompson Houston, TX; a step daughter, Dawn Dewey; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Joseph (Nancy) Thompson of Cuba; a very special daughter, Alice (Harry) Hurd of Cuba; a special grand daughter, Sly; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband Glendon she was predeceased by her sons Dennis, Ray, Darrell, and Dana Thompson, a brother Rod DeCarr and a sister Shirley Santmier.

The family will receive friends at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., Cuba, on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. until Noon at which time family and friends will proceed to Cuba Cemetery for burial.
