Donald H. Clark, 77, of 5 Windsor Street, Cuba, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Olean General Hospital after a short illness.
Born on March 23, 1945, in Cuba, he was a son of Harry and Dorothy Milliken Clark. On September 4, 2004, in Cuba, he married the former Donna M. Joseph who preceded him in death on August 2, 2019.
Don was a graduate of Cuba Central School Class of 1964. He then served in the United States Army from April 6, 1966 until April 5, 1968. He received the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Throughout his life he had worked in construction, at Clark Brothers in Olean, for his parent’s service stations Clarks Garage in Bolivar, Keystone and Quaker State Service Stations in Cuba, the Roadrunner Auto Parts in Cuba, and last as a truck driver for Stroehmann’s Bakery in Olean from which he retired.
Don was a lifetime member of the Cuba VFW Post 2721, Shawn M. Clemens Memorial AmVets Post 1 of Cuba, and was a member at the Cuba American Legion Post 655.
He loved cars, drag racing, car shows, watching NASCAR, and his dog, Brownie.
He is survived by his children, BobbiJo (Daniel) Baldwin of Little Genesee, Billi Jo (David) Stentz of North Carolina, Donald (Elizabeth Kozlowski) Clark II of Hamburg and Sarah Clark of Cuba; 2 step children, Tony (Lisa) Green of Hornell and Lisa Brown of Georgia; 9 grandchildren; one great granddaughter;
a brother, Gary (Darlene) Clark of Ocala, FL; 4 sisters, Barbara Schiralli of Bolivar, Diana (Paul) Young of Black Creek, Bonnie (Larry) Barber of Belmont and Kelly (Elroy, Jr.) Brickey of Cuba;
several nieces and nephews and a special niece Tina (Mike) Dewe.
In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by a son, Daniel Patrick Clark, who died in infancy in 1972.
A Celebration of Don’s life will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the Cuba American Legion Post 655, 5 East Main Street from 1-5 P.M.
