Beloved Father and Grandfather
David E. Barber, 75, of 8886 North Branch Road, Cuba, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023 at home after a long illness.

Born on April 13, 1947, in Cuba, he was a son of Hugh and Ida Cleghorn Barber.

Dave was drafted and served in the United States Army from January 4, 1968 until February 13, 1969. While enlisted he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, and most notably the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Stars and an additional Bronze Star for Valor.

He owned and operated his own farm on North Branch Road for many years prior to retirement. He always enjoyed raising animals. In retirement, he was a bartender at the St. James Hotel.

Dave was a member of the Cuba VFW Post 2721, Cuba American Legion Post 655, and the Shawn M. Clemens Memorial AmVets Post 1 of Cuba.

He is survived by his children, Teresa (Brandon) Hamilton of Loogootee, Indiana, Timberley (David) Marini of Warwick, Rhode Island and David Barber of Cuba; 3 grandchildren, Caleb and Ashley Hamilton and Aiden Barber; a sister, Karen (Dale) Johnson of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; and a few longtime close friends.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 2 brothers H.John and James, a sister Janet Nye and a nephew Phillip Barber.

The family will receive friends at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 4-6P.M. only. Funeral Services will be private.

Burial with military honor’s will be held in Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, New York.
