Born on May 5, 1954, in Olean, she was a daughter of Clarence F. and Lauretta (Pilon) Barrett, Jr. On January 16, 1993, in Cuba, she married Lanny A. Sweet, who survives.

Brenda was a graduate of Bolivar Central School and Jamestown Community College with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Psychology.

She worked all of her career in the banking industry and retired from Fleet Bank in Cuba. She was also a part time bartender for the Cuba VFW Post 2721.

Brenda loved to travel, but was happiest when she was spending time with her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Tracy (Keith) Kretchman of Oak Harbor, Washington, Holly (Bryce) Weitzel of Portville, Tricia Sweet of Cuba and Sommer (Lonny Lewis) Washington of Portville; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; a sister, Carla Hepker of Ceres; and several nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held and burial will be in Bowler Memorial Cemetery, Little Genesee, New York.
