Betty L. Burrows, 88, of 13 Windsor Street, Cuba, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Olean after a brief illness.
Born on November 16, 1933, in Cuba, she was a daughter of Elmer and Violet Carney Giles. On December 23, 1951, in the United Church of Friendship she married Arvis C. Burrows who predeceased her in 2004.
Betty worked for AVX in Olean and later was an in-home babysitter for many children throughout the years. Her greatest joy was raising her children and taking care of her grandchildren.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cuba, The Cuba Pok-A-Dot CB Radio Club, and the Cuba, Friendship, and Bolivar Senior Citizens Clubs.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol (Brian) Dutton of Ponca City, Oaklahoma; a son, Dean B. (Mary) Burrows of Cuba; a son-in-law, Steven Mitchell of Cuba; her grandchildren Chad, Amy, Jamie, Elizabeth, Jennifer, and Natalie;
two great grandchildren, Guiliana and Carter; a sister, Gert Cassidy of Olean; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by a daughter Connie Mitchell on August 18, 2021 and her siblings William Giles, Robert Giles, and Doll Burrows.
The family will receive friends at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street Cuba, on Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 1-4 P.M. and again on Monday, October 17, 2022 from 10-11:00 A.M. at which time Funeral Services will be held. Claudia Little will officiate.
Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, New York.
